“One simple, disarmingly relaxed, conversational chat later she had all she needed to marinate in the 'Helen' detail for as long as it took for their intuitive magic to happen.”

I was already a big fan of Simon Sinek since the famous 2009 TED Talk – I got it, the theory was gold, it resonated – but the lack of a ‘codified process’ that would help those hungry for more (i.e., me) to work out how they get to that ‘lightbulb’ moment was just frustrating. Along comes The Limbic System.

Kim and Felicity are intrinsically intuitive dot connectors. Kim’s sharp left brain has fully aligned with that deeply intuitive right brain to create an approach that extracts those ‘voice of the customer’ insights that you don’t even know you’ve shared until you’ve shared them.

One simple, disarmingly relaxed, conversational chat later she had all she needed to marinate in the ‘Helen’ detail for as long as it took for their intuitive magic to happen. I should add that you’ve got to trust someone that’s going to attempt to peel away the onion layers to find the core of what drives you – Kim is one of those people that just makes that easy.

The thoughtful questions she asks have you recounting stories from past and present, landmark moments in your life that have helped shape the person you are today. The simple perfect truth is that for me she nailed it, and if she hadn’t I’d have known, my gut would have told me, it just wouldn’t feel authentically me. Having shared mine with a very few close family and friends – the reaction is always the same – that is you to a T. The sense of confident calm that comes with taking that core why and using it as filter for any future life how’s is, well, it’s gold.

And if these words help convince you to take the ‘why’ step personally or for your company – I have no doubt you will feel absolutely the same”.

“The process was unexpected, although on reflection understandable, and the results they produced were astonishing. For the first time, we truly understood what PRO-FORM is all about and how to bring our Why to life to regain success.”

PRO-FORM is a company that grew up in a relatively easy and non-competitive market. We always had the best products, the best service and quality; and there was not much competition, so success came reasonably easily. That changed with the introduction of Asian-based competition who worked from a lower cost base and continuously improved themselves to erode our advantages and what had been easy sales. Struggling with how to combat this, we started searching for better ways to understand and communicate the value proposition that would set us apart, and enable PRO-FORM to enjoy the kind of success that had been so familiar in the early days.

Speaking to people in the know, one of them told me to meet with Kim, that she would talk about something that wouldn’t necessarily make sense, but to do it anyway as the results would be fantastic. Somewhat tentatively I met with Kim and understood exactly why I was told that – I definitely struggled to see how this would work.  Kim told me about Simon Sinek and her process to bring our ‘Why’ to life and we decided to give it a go (with some hefty enthusiasm from colleagues).

The process was unexpected, although on reflection understandable, and the results they produced were astonishing.  For the first time, we truly understood what PRO-FORM is all about and how to bring our Why to life to regain success. Kim and Fliss presented our Why in a very compelling way that demonstrated opportunities to use our Why and what is now possible by being true to it – all very inspiring and, at the time, a very emotional experience. PRO-FORM’s Why, as revealed by Kim and Fliss, is a perfect representation of what made us successful in the past and how we can leverage it to succeed again – we see evidence of success everyday now.

I told Kim I would know our Why is working when we win new business without discussing (or at least without leading with) price, and that is exactly what happens to PRO-FORM regularly now. Take the plunge – you won’t regret it.

“The results and the long term viability of the information provided to us by The Limbic System was outstanding.”

We wanted a different approach, something outside the normal business 101 reviews, something that was more long term. We wanted to really understand our own business, our own people, our own culture, the “WHY” we do, what we do. The results and the long term viability of the information provided to us by The Limbic System was outstanding. See what they can do for you. I can certainly recommend them.

“The Limbic System succinctly captured what it is that we are fuelled by.”

Creating a new business identity to sing out to the world was not only made easy, but very potent, by The Limbic System.

The Limbic System succinctly captured what it is that we are fuelled by. The Company You Keep immerses its own clients in a process designed to help them tap into, reveal and accelerate their own personal leadership superpowers; to create success with the company they keep. The Limbic System in turn did this for us; revealing our own core purpose and superpowers in leadership facilitation development.

The Limbic System offers mastery in identifying and communicating ‘Why you do, what you do’. We highly recommend Felicity and Kim.

“We felt that our 'Why' and guiding principles were created very organically. The ladies really understood us as individuals, a family, and a business which was extremely important to us.”

We feel very thankful to have worked with Kim and Felicity when we were establishing our business and branding seven years ago. Their direction with establishing our ‘Why’ of ‘Enjoy what you have’ and our guiding principles have been the foundation to how we have operated and grown as a business for the previous seven years. They helped us create a filter to ‘test’ everything against which has proved invaluable, especially with our rapid business growth. We felt that our ‘Why’ and guiding principals were created very organically. The ladies really understood us as individuals, a family, and a business which was extremely important to us. Their warm and caring approach matched with their innovative and thinking-outside-the-square mentality has guided and enabled us to have a very cohesive and strong brand over a long period of time. Every day we refer back to our ‘Why’ and this enables us to continue to grow as a business, in the right direction. We continue to engage with these two ladies on a project basis and they really have become part of our family here at Punnet.

“I would encourage you to trust the process, keep an open mind and let The Limbic System take you on a journey of exploring your 'Why'.”

I engaged the services of The Limbic System to help formulate branding and focus for my cycling label Surprisycle. Kim and Felicity are amazing to work with. Their creativity and ability to think outside the box, as well as the help they provide to really pare things down to the core focus and your unique drivers, is really inspiring. The process was efficient, fun and even a little emotional! I’m delighted with our end product. I think of them as part of my Surprisycle team! I highly recommend Kim & Fliss. I would encourage you to trust the process, keep an open mind and let The Limbic System take you on a journey of exploring your “Why”. These ladies know what they’re doing! … and finally, ‘Let the ride surprise you’!

“The process we undertook was, amazingly, quite emotional as they dug deep to discover our ‘Why’ and the drivers behind our proposed business offering.”

At the inception of the Kelly Rd Cambridge business concept, the business owners agreed we needed a brand that would represent our point of difference. We tried a few firms and came across Kim and Felicity. Kim and Felicity’s approach was quite different, in that they first identified and built upon our key founding insights and principles, to build a meaningful brand. The process we undertook was, amazingly, quite emotional as they dug deep to discover our ‘Why’ and the drivers behind our proposed business offering. 18 months on, we are thankful we found them. Our branding stands for exactly what the owners believe in – genuine excellence. This resonates with our guests at every touch point.

“Kim invested not only her time but her passion and genuine interest in what I did, in order to completely understand from my perspective and to deliver the desired result.”

I was lucky enough to work with Kim five years ago to help bring my dream to life.

Kim’s work is second to none – her passion is evident in every aspect of the project. She truly believes in Simon Sinek’s theory and it builds the foundations of her thorough and detailed work. Her work ethic and ability to deliver to the highest standard is admirable.

When helping me to build the purpose behind my business, Kim invested not only her time but her passion and genuine interest in what I did, in order to completely understand from my perspective and to deliver the desired result.

I still treasure the work Kim did for me and it inspires me on a daily basis. I have since taken Simon’s theory with me in all aspects of my life and it continues to drive the purpose behind why I do what I do.

“Kim and Felicity are communication professionals who knew how to express our values in ways that really get through to people.”

Kim and Felicity are communication professionals who knew how to express our values in ways that really get through to people. They are committed to understanding what we believe in and helped us to see how important it was to show that to our customers. Lovely people who are a pleasure to work with.

“Kim and Felicity then came up with layers of wording, visuals and a new brand concept around our new identity. These are meaningful and pertinent.”

Our work involves meeting women at a difficult time in their lives. This has affected us and led to our dedication and desire to improve breast cancer patient outcomes through quality research. We established the Waikato Breast Cancer Research Trust (WBCRT) to enable local and international breast cancer clinical trials and the Waikato Breast Cancer Register to ensure better outcomes for Waikato and New Zealand women.

The Trust needed to have a more professional image, social media and website. We enlisted Kim from The Limbic System to guide our team through rebranding. We trusted Kim within minutes of meeting her and she sensitively drew out our “Why”. Kim and Felicity then came up with layers of wording, visuals and a new brand concept around our new identity. These are meaningful and pertinent. We now have a brand, website and Facebook page that make us feel very proud!

To ensure that we continue to improve care and treatment through research we have needed to fundraise. Kim and Fliss have gone on to create fundraising event concepts that were “stand out” and which we loved. The WBCRT rebranding launch, called the “BEST OF” dinner, was “wow” from beginning to end – from the dressing of the room, to the Rocky Horror Picture Show theme and more! Our 2018 fundraising “Button Lunch” held at the Sir Don Rowlands Centre, Karapiro saw April Walker and her son Stan Walker being transported by Raukawa paddlers in a waka taua (war canoe) across Lake Karapiro. What an entrance. Guests experienced an unforgettable program thanks to Kim and Fliss’ creativity and networks of likeminded talent. Kim and Fliss have really been able to help us to create fabulous and memorable fundraising event experiences and templates to build on.

Kim and Fliss’ imagination and creativity with the merchandise for promotion of the Trust has also been just great. We would highly recommend Kim and Fliss for branding, marketing and event concepts. Their ideas, creativity and ability to “think outside the square” are amazing. We think they are the BEST!

“They came to an authentic understanding of how I operate and what motivates me in my work. This gave me the confidence to pursue a direction in business that I find genuinely fulfilling.”

I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Kim and Fliss for a number of years now ever since they created my business culture and branding for Big Kid Films. I have also worked with them when film is required in their own branding reveal process for new clients. Kim and Fliss really helped to give my business a clarity of direction. They came to an authentic understanding of how I operate and what motivates me in my work. This gave me the confidence to pursue a direction in business that I find genuinely fulfilling. When working with The Limbic System on projects for their other clients, I am constantly impressed with the level of personal investment and creative thought that they pour into each job. Their work resonates, and I don’t think I could give a higher compliment to a business than that. They are good people, and I consider them good friends.

Fingers crossed behind my back,

“Felicity’s vision and artistic ability brought my thoughts, ideas and mental images alive and linked it back into our product.”

My hobby became a business when orders from friends and family grew to strangers, cafes and restaurants. Overwhelmed without direction, Kim guided me with her knowledge and wanted to understand my story. She has an ability to retain information and present it in a way that could make me clearly see what I had never seen before. Felicity’s vision and artistic ability brought my thoughts, ideas and mental images alive and linked it back into our product. The Limbic System has organised us organically for others to understand our product which lets us get on with producing premium products for our consumers. Thanks ladies.

“I was naive to think that the ideal logo and branding would simply appear out of all the concepts, scribbles and ideas I had on paper.”

A significant achievement for 2018 that I am most proud of is the rebranding and development of our key messages. I was naive to think that the ideal logo and branding would simply appear out of all the concepts, scribbles and ideas I had on paper. Having the creative professionals (that’s you The Limbic System), come to the table and use their expertise has been invaluable. I can only say good things about working with Kim and her team. The rebranding project we did together was a positive investment that I should have done a lot sooner. The process was smooth and I instantly connected with the concept. The brand is unique yet simple and most importantly engages with people. I love working with the The Limbic System team and often find myself asking them to do more, so I stay true to the brand and messaging. I love our new brand.

“We have also been able to bring TerraCare’s core values to the fore, which means our efforts are now highly focused.”

Through our journey with The Limbic System we defined the value proposition of TerraCare and what makes TerraCare unique. We have also been able to bring TerraCare’s core values to the fore, which means our efforts are now highly focused.

As an outcome, TerraCare’s branding and key messaging has been refined across the website, brochures, advertising, internal documentation and field day sites. We feel much better off and look forward to continuing our journey with The Limbic System.

“Working with Kim Macfie and The Limbic System's thorough process to find my “Why”; and have put into words, pictures and actions, that which I could not do on my own, was the most profound experience to discover who I was and how that reflected into who my business was.”

Working with Kim Macfie and The Limbic System’s thorough process to find my “Why”; and have put into words, pictures and actions, that which I could not do on my own, was the most profound experience to discover who I was and how that reflected into who my business was. I constantly hear businesses discussing what their “Why” is; without really understanding that it’s not something you decide or make up, it’s a journey that has to be taken via a step by step process in order to achieve the “Why” outcome!
